Buddy reading books
Go to Report Builder and run a report to get all of the new books for one month.
Include the following categories:
Vendor | Title/Subtitle | Barcode | Material Type | Follett eBook | Author | ISBN | Date Acquired | Sublocation | Call Number |
Edit the list so that it contains only new library books and new library ebooks. Do not include textbooks, world languages books, or replacement copies of older books. Use Text Edit to save the list of barcodes as a file in plain text and create a copy category. This is so Susanne can edit the records in Destiny. Then eliminate duplicate ISBNs in the google spreadsheet so the cover won't appear twice in the Library Thing widget. Can sort by vendor first, to eliminate older titles that might have been donations, and then sort by barcode and title to eliminate duplicate ISBNs. Publish the spreadsheet as a webpage and update the Library Thing widget.
Create links to the right; one for all new arrivals, one for fiction, one for nonfiction, etc.
Put the nonfiction and the fiction on separate Resource Lists. Export to MM and make sure they all have the local subject headings Nonfiction or Fiction. Remove the word "juvenile" from all records.
Edit the records in Destiny, and create any promotional material that comes to mind.
Add genre headings, add to resource lists, add subject headings as determined by the UWCSEA Subject Headings document.
