Cataloging @ UWCSEA East: Russian books

Cataloging guidelines

In 2014 there was a large donation of Russian books that are part of the series Library of World Classics. Many of these volumes contain a mix of prose, poetry, drama and stories. The poetry, prose and drama have not been separated out, but have the same call number as the fiction, for example  S\RUS Pushkin. The few biographies have been separated out with the call number, for example,  S\RUS 921 Pasternak.

See example records Peer Gynt and Heart of a Dog and Verses and Prose.

The Cyrillic titles and author names, with English translations, are in the google doc saved russian books.  Book received from August 2015 onwards in on the second tab.

Use command-F and scan in the barcode to get to the correct line of translation. The Cyrillic and English titles and author names can be copied and pasted into the title record; do check the English for accuracy.

Click on Add Title. New records are automatically created as RDA records.
