Cataloging @ UWCSEA East: Fresh Reads - High School

Goodreads lists indicate which titles belong in which colour groups. None of us have links to the lists yet.

When cataloging, try to add copies to existing records when possible.

• These books will be on spinner racks in the high school classrooms.
• In the High School, there are 3 areas with four classrooms per area. Each area will have a unique symbol - Spades, Clubs or Diamonds. The four collections per area will be colour-coded - Red, Blue, Yellow, Green.
• The collections will rotate among the four classrooms within each area at the end of each quarter of the school year, so the rotations will happen in October, January, April and June. (The June rotation is to prep for August.)
• There are 160 unique titles and 3 copies of each title. The 160 titles will be divided into four sets - Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, with 40 unique titles in each colour group. There is no overlap of titles between the colour groups, but there are 3 copies of each title, so each colour group has 120 books.
• Symbol information is in the copy record, in the Sublocation. Colour information is in the title record, in a SSSH. Subsets (like Red Spades) can be searched in Power search using Circ Type (HS_ENG_CL: Fresh Reads) and subject (fresh reads red, fresh reads blue, etc.)

• On all Fresh Reads books, add the Site Specific Subject Heading 
  HSCL - HS English Dept. Class Libraries
• The four colour collections will each have a Site Specific Subject Heading
  • HSCL - Fresh Reads Red Set
  • HSCL - Fresh Reads Blue Set
  • HSCL - Fresh Reads Yellow Set
  • HSCL - Fresh Reads Green Set
