Good reads for Grade 6 students: Realistic fiction

This LibGuide contains suggestions for reading in different genres. These are just some recommendations from the many books in the UWCSEA library, but may help you with authors or types of books you would like to read.

Realistic fiction

Includes stories about family, school, friendships as well as novels about various world issues and problems. Also, about characters in difficult situations and in other places in the world. Realistic fiction is, as the term implies, a story that looks as if it could take place in real life, now. It is, nevertheless, still a story!

As well as these suggestions, you can also look at the library catalogue here, where you can do a subject search, using more specific terms, such as an event or country, or for types of realistic fiction, such as 'family stories'.
