World Mapper
The maps presented on this website are equal area cartograms, otherwise known as density-equalising maps. The cartogram re-sizes each territory according to the variable being mapped.
Global Footprint Data
The National Footprint Accounts (NFAs), developed by Global Footprint Network, provide comprehensive data on humanity’s demand on nature. They track how this demand compares across more than 200 countries, territories, and regions, and how it relates to the planet’s biological capacity to meet these demands.

Overview

Fishing, mining/mineral (could include gold, gems, coal, etc.), oil, agriculture.

Choose a natural resource industry and create a booklet about the choices and consequences of our use of that resource. The booklet will have the following sections:

1) topic and issues around this industry; a map of the places where this is an issue

2) ways that the resource is harvested/extracted - pros and cons of each

3) the different perspectives - who are the key people/groups associated with that industry and what "lens" shapes their perspective (environmental, political, economic, and social)

4) possible solutions (associated with sustainability) and their opinions (an expository paragraph showing their understanding of why this is an issue that needs to be addressed)
